'Chicago Fire' Season 6 Spoilers: Severide Falls In Love With a Small-Town Girl

Severide (Taylor Kinney) is set to fall in love with a small-town girl in the upcoming season of "Chicago Fire."

Executive producer Derek Haas recently revealed to Entertainment Weekly that the lieutenant will meet an old friend of Brett's (Kara Killmer) and realize that he is in deep. It has been previously teased that Hope (Eloise Mumford) will arrive in Chicago, hoping to find Brett a new boyfriend. The EP said that Hope will initially catch Severide's eye, but later on, he will still find time to flirt with ex-girlfriend, Stella (Miranda Rae Mayo). It certainly looks like Severide will soon be over the death of his former flame.

"She's a very cute, fun, small-town girl who is a little bright lights, big city coming to Chicago," Haas said. "She decides she really likes what Brett has going on in Chicago and looks to gain favor amongst our firefighters. She's going to be a romantic interest to Severide starting off, and we're also going to have Stella Kidd and Severide flirt with each other through this season."

Severide is not the only one to get a new love interest in season 6. Otis (Yuri Sardarov) will meet an attractive someone when he and Cruz (Joe Minoso) check out a bar. The daughter of the owner, Lily, will easily make butterflies flutter in Otis' stomach. It remains to be seen though if she will also fall for him. Haas also teased that there might be a new location for Molly's soon since Otis and Cruz are definitely thinking of expanding the business, like building a North branch. The EP also said that it was going to be a "fun" episode.

Meanwhile, fans are looking forward to the resolution of the cliffhangers from last season's finale. There is still the question of Casey's (Jesse Spencer) fate. The last time he was seen, he was trapped inside a burning building. His wife, Dawson (Monica Raymund), was crying her eyes out, scared that he would not make it out of there alive. Casey was also convinced that the end had come for him. He started to say goodbye to her and to his team.

Elsewhere, many are looking forward to meeting the enigmatic Mr. Sprinkles, a new character who has been teased for months before the upcoming premiere.

"Chicago Fire" season 6 will air on NBC on Sept. 28 at 10 p.m. EDT.
