'Chicago Med' Season 2 Spoilers: Dr. Rhodes Faces Make or Break Moment in Career; Will He be Able to Pull Off Surgery that is Clearly Beyond Him?
Dr. Rhodes goes ahead with a complicated surgery without consulting his new mentor.
Dr. Connor Rhodes (Colin Donnell) will face a big test in his career in the the third installment of "Chicago Med" Season 2. He will be taking on a very complicated heart surgery which he may not be able to complete since the case is clearly beyond him.
Going behind mentor's back
In the episode titled "Natural History", Rhodes' new patient is named Glenn Simon who happens to be a high profile personality with a lot of connections. He is also suffering from a very complicated heart condition. Rhodes will take on the case in the upcoming "Chicago Med" Season 2 episode without consulting his very challenging new mentor Dr. Latham (Ato Essandoh).
Among the storylines for the third episode of "Chicago Med" Season 2, Rhodes' must be the most serious one based on the synopsis. Since the last season's finale, Dr. Rhodes has been made to face plenty of upheavals starting with the death of his mentor. His new mentor Dr. Latham was not exactly thrilled to have him on board right upon meeting him in the new season finale.
Surgery beyond him
Now Rhodes is the man of the hour again in a potentially explosive plot line that could make or break his career. What happens if he will not be able to pull off the surgery that may be beyond him and lose the patient? He will certainly be facing grave consequences from his Dr. Latham.
Already, he will be warned by Sharon Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) in this "Chicago Med" episode not to mess up because if he does, Rhodes will have a lot to worry about. Fans will just have to wait to find out if Rhodes can save the day for the patient or buries himself deeper with Dr. Latham.
Indonesian man in dire straits
Meanwhile, Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) will be working with her new love interest, medical student Jess Clarke ( Jeff Hephner) on their next case. According to the synopsis of the "Chicago Med" Season 2 episode, they will be forced to figure out what could be the illness of an Indonesian man who will be brought to the hospital already in dire straits. To make things more complicated, the man does not speak any English.
Deeply rooted family secrets
Nurse Maggie Lockwood (Marlyne Barrett) will be successful in roping Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) into accompanying her to their family reunion. He will meet her sister Denise who may be telling Halstead more than she should. Halstead will be able to discover the family's deeply rooted secrets according to the "Chicago Med" Season 2 episode synopsis.
Elsewhere at the Gaffney Chicago Medical Center, Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt) and his new psych resident Dr. Sarah Reese (Rachel DiPillo) take on the case of a woman who is experiencing an unusual pregnancy.
