Chicago White Sox MLB Trade Rumors: Pirates, Astros and Yankees Among the Teams Interested in Jose Quintana

Pitcher Jose Quintana played great last season. In fact, he was one of the Chicago White Sox's most consistent players and he also made it to the All-Star team for the first time in his career. His achievements have made him stand out, but in a rebuilding team like the White Sox, it also means he is a viable trade bait this offseason.

Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times has reported that several teams were interested in Quintana including the Pittsburgh Pirates, Houston Astros and New York Yankees. He also revealed that one team has actually come close to acquiring him, but talks have reportedly stalled.

Meanwhile, Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports believes the Astros and the Texas Rangers should be the frontrunners for the pitcher. Quintana's name has been mentioned a lot in trade rumors, but no deal has materialized so far.

Well, it's business as usual for Quintana. He has heard the rumors, but he's not going to let it bother him. "Well, you never know what's going to happen but during the offseason, I heard a lot of rumors. But I said the same thing every time, you don't have control over that. Keep doing my preparation for the new year, new season and that's about it," he said, according to Chicago Sun-Times.

"Yeah, it's a little bit hard when you hear too many things about rumors every time. But I don't pay attention to that. I just put my focus on all the things I need to do. Every bullpen, workouts and everything it takes to be ready," he continued.

The White Sox aren't afraid of trading their best players this season since they are undergoing a full rebuild, and it's clear that no one is off the table after Chris Sale and Adam Eaton got traded last December. Now, it's Quintana and David Robertson's turn to endure the trade rumors.
