Chip and Joana Gaines News: Rep Belies Reports Claiming Security Concerns are Couple's Reason for Leaving 'Fixer Upper'

A representative of Chip and Joana Gaines has said that there is no truth to the rumors claiming that security reasons led to the decision of the duo to end "Fixer Upper" after its upcoming fifth season.

Amidst the speculations claiming that the beloved HGTV hosts are ending the run of "Fixer Upper" because of security reasons, a representative of the duo has recently belied the rumors and reiterated that the two simply want to take a breather and focus on their other endeavors.

"It is not based on concerns for their family's safety or anything else people might read. They were very open and honest about their reasoning behind this decision when they first shared the announcement," goes a portion of the statement released by the rep of the two.

To recall, it was at the latter part of last September when the "Fixer Upper" couple announced via a blog post that they were going to end their show on HGTV. According to the Gaines couple, while they are sure about their decision to end the show, it was not an easy one.

"Our plan is to take this time to shore up and strengthen the spots that are weak, rest the places that are tired and give lots of love and attention to both our family and our businesses," the hosts said in their the official blog post as they explained why they were ending the popular show.

It seems that focusing on their family is, indeed, the reason why the real-life couple decided to let go of "Fixer Upper." According to a source of Us Weekly, the two do not want the show to get into their marriage and children, especially that the kids are growing up. Meanwhile, another source revealed that, as the Gaines are regular people, they also want to raise their kids to be like them.

The "Fixer Upper" hosts are parents to Drake, 12, Ella, 10, Duke, 9, and Emmie, 7.

Meanwhile, "Fixer Upper" season 5 premieres on HGTV this November.
