Chip and Joanna Gaines' New HGTV Deal; Sneak Peek for 'Fixer Upper' Spin-Off Released
After "Fixer Upper" wrapped up another season, Chip and Joanna Gaines announced a huge deal for a new HGTV show. The network has offered the first exclusive look at the coupe's new 30-minute series, '"Fixer Upper: Behind the Design," where Joanna reveals the goings-on off-camera while filming for "Fixer Upper."
Earlier this week, the golden couple confirmed that their new spin-off series was going to air in the current "Fixer Upper" time slot every Tuesday night. In the exclusive sneak peek for their new show, several clear containers, pillows and overly decorated rooms that didn't see the light on TV were featured, showing fans what happens in all the rooms that they don't get to see on the "Fixer Upper" show.
In the clip, Joanna says of the project, "There's a lot of planning that goes into a day like today. But it's inevitable. I'll need more books, I'll need a certain vase. I always like to bring too much so that in the end I have what I need."
According to Joanna, viewers often wonder what happens in the other bedrooms during reveals. One of the scenes in the clip shows her pointing to a space completely filled with rugs, tools, tarps, candles, galvanized buckets and bins, and saying, "Well, this is one of the bedrooms."
She also revealed that the upcoming show will offer more inside scoop of how she and Chip come up with certain decisions on the show, as well as the design elements that they got to incorporate. In an Instagram video, she said "Behind the Design" will address questions about the designs and how they usually get from point A to Z when it comes to designing their projects.
Currently, production for "Fixer Upper" season 5 is underway but HGTV has yet to announce its premiere date.
