Chrissy Teigen and John Legend Welcome Baby Luna Simone Stephens

After months of waiting, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have finally welcomed their first child, Luna Simone Stephens on Thursday, April 14.

According to People, the announcement came through Teigen's Instagram account where she posted a snapshot of the baby's weight: 6 lbs., 11 oz. "She's here! Luna Simone Stephens, we are so in love with you! And sleepy. Very sleepy," the model wrote.

Legend also took to social media and celebrated his daughter's birth through a tweet that immediately gained thousands of likes and retweets from fans of the couple who followed the pregnancy.

In December, the couple announced that they will be having a baby girl, following October's news that Teigen had been undergoing IVF for her to conceive. The TV personality also said she specifically chose a girl for their first baby.

In a separate interview with the same outlet last month, Teigen explained why she and Legend decided to share their pregnancy on social media. "We're not going to go out of our way to hide because obviously it's such a big part of our lives," she explained.

The 30-year-old cookbook author added that she has been thinking about the issue on whether or not to create a social media account for baby Luna. She has been talking to the family lawyer about options but it is unclear when or if she will decide to have the baby's own URL created.

Meanwhile, the clan is reportedly happy and ecstatic about baby Luna's arrival. A source close to Teigen told E! News that Teigen and Legend are "surrounded by family and close friends." The insider went on to share that the baby looks like both of her parents as she has the model looks that her mom boasts of but she also has some of her singing sensation dad's features.

The couple have not yet shared a photo of baby Luna but it is expected that they will post one or two for fans to see in the coming days.
