The Bengals come into this game on 7-3-1 and top of the AFC North - but only just. The AFC North is by far the closest in the league this year, with less than a game separating all four teams. Even though the Bengals come into Week 13 at the top, they are chased by the Baltimore Ravens, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Cleveland Browns, who are all tied for second on 7-4.
That means the Bengals have no breathing space at all if they are to maintain sole possession of the top spot in the division. With just a month of the season to go now, they dare not lose here against a poor Tampa Bay team.

The Buccaneers are bottom of the NFC South, entering Week 13 on just 2-9. However, amazingly they do still have a chance at winning the NFC South. That slim chance comes thanks to the absolutely pathetic showing of all four teams in the division this season. The Atlanta Falcons and the New Orleans Saints are currently tied for top spot in the division despite both being only on 4-7. The Carolina Panthers are 3-7-1.
That means that the Buccaneers are just two games back from top spot, and if they can win here today and close out the season with wins, then they probably stand a semi-reasonable chance of winning the division.
