'Civilization VI' News: Learn More About the Features of the Mongolian Civ

Mongolian Civ coming to the game via the 'Rise and Fall' expansion

Yet another Civ has been confirmed for "Civilization VI," and this one will feature the Mongol Empire.

Leading the way for the Mongols is Genghis Khan, a feared ruler who used force to accomplish his goals during his reign.

In the game, Genghis Khan's unique leader ability is known as the Mongol Horde, and this provides combat bonuses for Mongolian cavalry class units. This also allows for the capture of opposing cavalry class units who can eventually become members of the horde.

The Mongol Civ's unique Civ ability is Örtoo, and what this does is provide an effective trading route that is used mainly for the quicker transfer of combat intelligence. This unique Civ ability enhances Combat Strength and Diplomatic Visibility.

It would not be a complete "Civilization VI" Civ if it did not come with a unique unit, and for the Mongols, it is the one known as the Keshig. The Keshig are mounted units that use composite bows to take down their enemies. They are adept defenders as well, so it will be difficult for opposing players to go through them. Another unique feature of the Keshig is that they can apparently serve as protectors for slower units, and they may even provide movement speed enhancements.

The last of the Mongol Civ's unique features is Ordu. Ordus provide comfort for warriors even as they are traveling. In the game, these will give movement bonuses to both light and heavy cavalry.

The Mongolian Civ is the third one confirmed to be included in the "Rise and Fall" expansion. The two others that have already been unveiled are the Korea Civ and the Dutch Civ.

There are still more Civs set to be revealed soon as the expansion contains nine new leaders and eight additional Civs.

"Rise and Fall" will be released for "Civilization VI" on Feb. 8.
