'Clash of Clans' Updates Bring Changes - Village Guard, Personal Breaks, League Bonuses and Loot
In a series of announcements, Supercell revealed several new updates to "Clash of Clans." These include the new Village Guard, personal breaks, league bonuses and a new loot source.
Village Guard and personal breaks
The first announcement discusses changes to the shield system, specifically a new Village Guard and changes to the personal break time.
First off, the new Village Guard offers players a short-term defense during periods when their shield is down. It basically makes a village act as if the player is online even after the game has been closed or disconnected.
Free Village Guard will immediately activate for a set period after a player's shield expires. For Master I League and below, it will be activated for 15 minutes; for Champion League (all levels), 30 minutes; for Titan III League, 1 hour; Titan II League, 2 hours; and for Titan I / Legend League, 3 hours.
Players with plenty of gems to spare can also get 2 hours extra for 10 gems daily. This is especially useful when shield is cooling down. For free players, the village guard will be activated when (1) a shield expires and (2) after defending a weak attack (less than 30 percent destruction).
Meanwhile, players will be subjected to a mandatory personal break of six minutes after they've been playing online for a cumulative three hours sans shield. An additional two-hour personal break time will be imposed for players who buy two-hour Village Guard. It will reset when players regain a shield and paused during server maintenance.
Of these changes, the development team had this to say: "Both attacking and defending will become more flexible, dynamic and fairer than ever before. These changes aim to support the way all players Clash, from the casual to the super-competitive."
Loot and league bonuses
In a separate announcement, the "Clash of Clan" development team revealed changes in league bonuses and additional source of loot.
For loot, maximum loot is still the same but it will be distributed between the Town Hall and storages. The Town Hall's share of loot is equal to one Gold Storage, one Elixir Storage, and one-fourth Dark Elixir storage. In addition, along with Clan Castle, the Town Hall will count as a resource building, getting twice double damage if attacked by Goblins.
On the other hand, all league bonuses have increased and are now also progressive (from 0 to 100 percent). How much league bonus a player receives will depend on destruction percentage. For instance, a player who inflicts 70 percent destruction will receive 100 percent league bonus.
