Cleveland Browns NFL Draft Rumors: Browns 'Strongly Considering' Drafting Mitch Trubisky

The Cleveland Browns may have already made up their mind on who they will select with the first pick of the draft.

Citing league sources, Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com said the Browns were "strongly considering" taking North Carolina Tar Heels quarterback Mitch Trubisky with the first overall pick. Bleacher Report's Matt Miller also reported that Browns coach Hue Jackson likes the young quarterback.

How interesting would it be if Trubisky ends up with the Browns? He grew up in Mentor, Ohio, so he's going to play for his hometown team if he gets selected first overall. There's going to be a lot of pressure for him to perform if he goes to Cleveland, but Trubisky told the media at the scouting combine he could handle it.

"There's going to be pressure pretty much everywhere you go," he said, according to Ohio.com. "I have a lot of pride of where I'm from, that being my hometown, but no matter what team selects me, I'm going to be super excited. I'm going to work as hard as possible wherever I go. It's been a dream of mine to play in the NFL since I was a little kid," he continued.

According to Cleveland.com, the Browns are going to take a closer look at Trubisky, Texas A&M pass-rusher Myles Garrett, Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson, and Alabama pass-rusher Jonathan Allen in the weeks leading to the draft.

Trubisky only started 13 games for the Tar Heels, but Jackson doesn't seem to be bothered by the small sample size. He told reporters they would just try to find out more about him before the draft. The quarterback does have the size the Browns are looking for in a quarterback, so that's a huge plus.

Trubisky has already said he'll love to play in Cleveland. Maybe he can break the Browns' quarterback curse if they pick him.
