Cleveland Cavaliers NBA Trade Rumors: Looking to Be a True Contender With LeBron James and Kevin Love
The Cleveland Cavaliers is turning out to becoming one of the most interesting teams this coming NBA season, especially with their acquisition of LeBron James during the summer free agency as well as a trade for Minnesota Timberwolves star Kevin Love.
Basketball Insiders speculated about the possibility of the Cavaliers taking first place during the 2014-2015 season. With LeBron back with the Cavaliers as well as the acquisition of Love has made it apparent that the team could do very well this season.
Moke Hamilton, Lang Greene, Alex Kennedy, and Yannis Koutroupis of the Basketball Insiders think that the Cavaliers will be placing first in the Central Division while Joel Brigham thinks at least second place is adequate.
The Cavaliers also have a lot of high-profile players this season, most of them shooters but LeBron and Love alone should be enough to put the team into the top three. LeBron, especially, is a strong and fit all-rounder being able to fill any role needed on the court.
It's important to note that LeBron placed third in league scoring last year, followed by Love, while Kyrie Irving came in 14th place.
Of course, maintaining their rankings in the league scoring this year will be difficult as the load will be split among them but this would only mean more scoring and three-point opportunities. Taking these into account, the Cavaliers are looking to be one of the strong offensive teams for the 2014-2015 season.
