Cleveland Cavaliers NBA Trade Rumors: Cavs Are Shopping Iman Shumpert; Pelicans, Wolves Interested
Right now, the Cleveland Cavaliers are still trying to add a "playmaker" to strengthen the roster and keep LeBron James happy. But instead of adding a player, it looks like they may unload one of their backup wing players before the deadline.
ESPN's Brian Windhorst has reported that the Cavs have made Iman Shumpert available in trade talks and he said the New Orleans Pelicans have expressed interest in the swingman. Furthermore, AmicoHoops' Sam Amico said the Minnesota Timberwolves are interested in acquiring his services as well, and Darren Wolfson of 1500 ESPN also revealed that the Wolves have been keeping an eye on Shumpert for some time now.
Shumpert may be one of the most inconsistent players on the roster, but it appears that a number of teams are interested in what he has to offer.

The Pelicans do have a number of players who can help the Cavs off the bench. They would love to get Jrue Holiday in exchange for Shumpert, but that's not happening. Cavs fans can keep dreaming, though. Some observers believe that the Cavs should trade for point guard Tim Frazier and absorb center Alexis Ajinca's contract. E'Twaun Moore and Tyreke Evans are options as well since they are decent ball handlers.
Meanwhile, Ricky Rubio's name will come up in any trade involving the Wolves, but the Cavs probably need a point guard that can shoot. The team needs more shooters to spread the floor to give James and Kyrie Irving more room to operate. Kris Dunn is also a poor shooter and the Wolves probably won't include him in trade talks since he's supposed to be their point guard of the future. Will the Cavs give up Shumpert for Tyus Jones? Probably not.
With the trade deadline just a few days away, the Cavs will have to decide if it's a good idea to move Shumpert.
