Cleveland Cavaliers News: LeBron's Job Getting Tougher Each Game, Bulls to Miss Gasol in Game 5?
LeBron James bailed out the Cavs from a possible 3-1 hole after a clutch buzzer-beater in Game 4 to even the series coming to their home court.
However, as the Chicago-Cleveland series reaches its climax, each game is becoming tougher and tougher for the four-time MVP.
In each of the past four games, LeBron has averaged a little less than 26 points, grabbing almost 11 boards, and dishing eight assists each game. Just taking a good look at James' stats shows how much he is doing for Cleveland.
On the other hand, Kyrie Irving has only scored 11 and 12 points in Games 3 and 4 respectively, while shooting a miserable 20 percent from the field. To make things even worse, the Cavs starting point guard is only averaging three assists this post-season, and registering only two in the last two games.
While Cleveland may have the advantage over the Bulls in Game 5 at home, Irving should do his job in pushing and distributing the ball to his teammates.
Fortunately for the Cavs, the Bulls could be missing the services of forward Pau Gasol who is suffering from a hamstring injury that he first acquired in Game 2.
The big man's numbers have significantly dropped in the last three games, scoring a total of 17 points and grabbing just 8 rebounds. Comparing those stats with the double-double machine that Gasol was in the regular season, the Bulls are definitely missing his offensive presence inside.
However, for both teams, there are a number of players who can step up. Given that James and Irving, and Derrick Rose and Jimmy Butler are going to cancel themselves out, it depends on both teams' other players.
