However, James has come back home to Cleveland and will now meet his former teammates early in the new season.
As for Wade and Bosh, the absence of James has been felt as they are no longer the title contenders they once were, but the Heat are now looking to return to prominence in the East after missing out in the playoffs last year.
Miami got off to the perfect start in the new season as they won their first game against the Charlotte Hornets.
The Heat dominated en route to a 104-94 victory, with Bosh finishing with 21 points and 10 rebounds in his return from illness which caused him to miss last year's regular season.
Wade added 20 points to help the team as he also dished out five assists in 29 minutes on the floor.
Rookie Justise Winslow opened the doors to his NBA career with a great baseline dunk for his first two points as he finished with five points in over 25 minutes of play.
As for the Cavaliers, they lost their first game to the Chicago Bulls but bounced back when they battled the Memphis Grizzlies.
The Cavs beat their Western Conference foes 106-76 to get their first win of the season as Kevin Love scored 17 points and pulled down 13 rebounds in the win, while James had 12 points, seven rebounds and five assists in 30 minutes of action.
This is a great match between two good East teams so expect a lot of action.
