CM Punk Headed Back to WWE? Return Rumors Continue
Since CM Punk's departure from the WWE last January, fans of the superstar wrestler have always hoped for his return to the ring. His name being chanted whenever his wife, WWE Diva AJ Lee, skips towards whoever it is she's wrestling with. And furthermore, he continues to make headlines even though he's nowhere to be seen.
But will he return to the WWE? And does CM Punk even want to do so? And if so, what would Stephanie McMahon say to that?
Wrestlezone reports that according to a WWE source, company officials are very concerned with CM Punk chants ruining Monday's Raw broadcast.
Members of the WWE social media department have been reportedly told to monitor Reddit, Twitter, top-liked Facebook fan pages and other forums and platforms to find out if there are any rallying plans lined up similar to the #HijackRaw movement back in March.
Moreover, Sportskeeda is reporting that WWE edited out CM Punk's crowd reaction from part 1 of the WWE 2k15 roster reveal. As Renee Young and Steve Austin were naming stars on the roster, there was only silence when Punk's name was mentioned, as compared to the other wrestlers who were mentioned and got loud cheers. The website reports that the company used a simple voiceover of Young announcing Punk's name instead of the original footage from the roster reveal.
At this point, it certainly looks as if the WWE is doing everything to erase anything related to Punk as the company even had a fire sale of all CM Punk merchandise on their website.
However, there is still a faint possibility of his return as Stephanie McMahon appeared on WGN Morning news on Monday to discuss WWE and Susan G. Komen partnering together for the third time for a breast cancer awareness campaign.
When asked whether reconciliation between CM Punk and the WWE is possible, she replied, "CM Punk is an incredible character."
"We've had a lot of fun with him and who knows what the future holds," she said.
