'Code: Realize ~Guardian of Rebirth~' Air Date, Spoilers: Can a Cursed Romance Survive Industrial London in Upcoming Steampunk Anime?
Cardia is no ordinary woman just as Arsène Lupin is no ordinary thief. Their first encounter and subsequent adventures on the streets and hidden corners of Industrial London is front and center on the upcoming Japanese steampunk anime series, "Code:Realize ~Sousei no Himegimi~ (Code: Realize ~Guardian of Rebirth~)."
Owing to a promise she gave her father two years ago, Cardia has spent her days isolated in an abandoned mansion located on the outskirts of London. This is so that she can keep herself as well as other people from harm, for her body happens to carry a kind of deadly poison that rots and melts anything and anyone that touches her skin.
Cardia has been dubbed a monster and seems to have been fated to a life of eternal solitude until the Royal Guards break into the mansion to capture her. This is the point when the chivalrous thief, Arsène, comes and rescues her. The two of them will then set out on a journey to find Cardia's father, who seems to be the only one who holds all the answers to Cardia's questions about her mysterious condition.
They will subsequently be joined by four equally interesting and handsome gentlemen, each with his own unique personality and intention added to the mix.
The upcoming series is based on an Otome visual novel video game released in 2014 and 2015 in Japan and North America, respectively. The story will feature a steampunk style, along with a cast of renowned literary and historical figures such as Van Helsing, Dr. Frankenstein, and the aforementioned Lupin.
The game was developed by Otomate for PlayStation Vita.
On the other hand, the anime adaptation is being produced by the animation studio M.S.C. and is directed by Hideyo Yamamoto. Sayaka Harada is in charge of the series composition, while Aya Nakanishi will be adapting Miko's original art for animation.
