'Code Vein' News: Additional Details About the Companion Characters Revealed

Companion characters are known as Revenants inside the game

Gamers who have been following the development of "Code Vein" have likely noticed that there are characters who accompany players as they go through dungeons and even fight enemies.

If it seems like these companion characters have been getting plenty of screen time, that is no accident since developers have made it known that these individuals will be important parts of the game.

Producer Keita Iizuka and director Hiroshi Yoshimura recently spoke to some members of the media during a group interview, and a number of folks from DualShockers were on hand for it.

Among the subjects discussed by Iizuka and Yoshimura were the aforementioned companion characters, who in the game are better known as Revenants.

First off, it was revealed that only one Revenant can accompany the player at a given time. The rest of them will be hanging out at a sort of base camp.

If players want to change the Revenant accompanying them, they will have to go back to camp.

Players will also meet more Revenants the deeper they progress into "Code Vein." The final number of Revenants included in the game was not revealed, but plenty of them are expected to be present.

While prospective players wait to find out exactly how many Revenants are going to be included, they can learn more about the ones who have already been announced.

Mia Karnstein is a Revenant who likes to use the bayonet in battle, while Yakumo Shinonome is a former mercenary.

Louis is the helpful type who goes out of his way for fellow Revenants. And then there is Io, a character who can best be described as mysterious.

Jack Rutherford and Eva Roux are the last of the currently confirmed Revenants, and they bring aggression to the battles they are involved in.

Additional Revenants may be revealed in the future, and players will be able to get to know these companion characters better as soon as "Code Vein" is released sometime next year.
