'Code Vein' News: Getting to Know the Game's Different Revenants

Revenants can help players out inside the game

The dangerous world inside "Code Vein" is one that must not be traveled alone. Players will need some assistance if they are going to make it there, and developers have obliged by including other characters known as Revenants.

The Revenants are beings that roam around the devastated world who have varied backgrounds, skills and motivations.

Getting to know the Revenants is an important task players will have to undertake or else they may find the game to be even more difficult than it needs to be.

The folks from Bandai Namco have revealed more details about these Revenants over the past few months.

First off is the Revenant that people who have been following the development of the game may recognize right away, Mia Karnstein. Mia is fiercely protective of her younger brother, which is obviously not an easy thing to do in the world she is in now. She becomes a force in battle, thanks in part to the bayonet in her hands.

Next up is Yakumo Shinonome, a Revenant who worked as a mercenary previously. Yakumo stays cool and collected at all times and is a Revenant admired by others in "Code Vein."

Developers have also introduced Louis and Io. Louis is an expert at using the one-handed sword and is also driven by a desire to help other Revenants. Meanwhile, Io is perhaps the most mysterious of the Revenants as she knows the world around her incredibly well but is unable to recall anything about her past.

More recently, developers named two more Revenants who may be able to provide some valuable assistance to players. Eva Roux and Jack Rutherford appear to be closely connected to one another and they also share a "twisted past."

There may be even more Revenants revealed in the future, and they too will likely have their own unique backstories.

"Code Vein" is set to be released for the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One next year.
