'Code Vein' Rumors: What Kind of Multiplayer Component Could Be Included?

Devs currently thinking about including multiplayer support

"Code Vein" may be all about challenging players and trying to bring out the best in their gaming abilities, but there is a chance that fans will not have to go it alone.

Numerous new details about the action role-playing game were revealed during the Tokyo Game Show, including some surprising ones.

During an interview with GameReactor, producer Keita Iizuki revealed that they were thinking about providing multiplayer support.

Specifics about the multiplayer component were not provided, though it is an idea already being discussed with the developers.

Iizuka also mentioned the game's buddy system while talking about the possibility of adding a multiplayer element, which is quite interesting.

For those who may be unaware, in "Code Vein," the characters that players create can be accompanied by other individuals in the game. These other characters are not just innocent bystanders either.

These other characters, known as Partners, will help players out as they go through dungeons and take on the enemies inside the game.

Partners can defend players in battle and can even share HP with them so that the latter can continue to fight.

There are even Co-Op Gifts players can activate whenever Partners are in the area, Gematsu reported.

Co-Op Gifts can provide various benefits that should be incredibly helpful when facing off against a powerful enemy. The effects of these will also vary from one Partner to the next, and this means players will have to figure out which Partner-gift combination is most useful to them.

As GameReactor also hinted, the multiplayer element in the game may involve a human-controlled character replacing the AI Partners who will accompany players.

Players will likely want more than that, and if a co-op element is introduced, there may soon be calls for PvP (player versus player) to be added as well.

For now, the multiplayer plans for "Code Vein" remain unclear, though they should be cleared up ahead of the game's arrival next year.
