Colorado Avalanche NHL Trade Rumors: Avalanche Still Looking for a Landing Spot for Jarome Iginla
Many believe that Jarome Iginla will be a first-ballot Hall of Famer when he decides to retire. He's one of the greatest players to wear a Calgary Flames uniform and he has achieved so much during his long, illustrious career. However, one thing continues to elude him. Iginla has never won the Stanley Cup and at age 39, he wants another shot at the title before he calls it a career.
Iginla has already spoken with Colorado Avalanche general manager Joe Sakic about his desire to chase for a title, but so far they have yet to ship him to a contender. However, the team is still looking for a trade partner and according to Terry Frei of the Denver Post, Iginla's request to be traded to a playoff team is still on the table.
In an interview with the Denver Post, Iginla admitted that he does not know what would happen before the trade deadline. But whether he stays or goes, he said he's ready to help his team get some wins.

Meanwhile, Iginla's teammates also want to see him chase the Stanley Cup title and they hope he will be moved to a contender before the trade window closes on March 1.
"Iggy wants one last shot at the playoffs. Everybody in this dressing room, around the league, feels the same way. We'd love to see somebody like that win," Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog told ESPN.
"It would be awesome to have that final feather in his cap. It's cool to see the thirst and hunger he has for the game and for scoring goals. He's like a little kid like that. I love to see it. I'm like that. I hope I'm still like that at his age," Matt Duchene said, according to ESPN.
This may be Iginla's final season and everyone wants to see him get a chance to obtain the only trophy missing on his resume.
