Columbus Day 2015 Deals: The Best Buys for This Year
Columbus Day is one of the lesser holidays that get the attention of many, but for some shops, it is a major sales day as it attracts many consumers inside stores looking for the best deals.
While many shopping experts encourage buyers to take a look at the best deals for this particular holiday, experts also remind shoppers that Black Friday, which is just a few weeks away, offers more sales than Columbus Day.
Christopher Columbus' big day is that holiday that allows buyers to get huge discounts on several accessories. According to Deal News, consumers should pay Last Call by Neiman Marcus and Wilson's Leather a visit for big buys on purses, tote bags, and wallets. The mentioned retailers are known for offering discounts starting from 30 to 70 percent off on a selected number of bags and accessories.
Another shop mentioned is Michaels. Last year, it offered the biggest discount for the year, with 50 percent off on particular regular-priced items — all offered on Columbus Day.
Shoes have been a wonderful source of cash for retailers for the past Columbus Day celebrations. The experts suggest that buyers check out the sales ranging from 25 percent to 90 percent in several stores like 6pm, Shoebuy, ShoeMall, and Last Call by Neiman Marcus.
For buyers looking to save big on athletic shoes, U.S. News suggests visiting retailers including Puma, Nike, and Adidas. The offers given by these retailers allow for up to 50 percent of savings on select shoes. While the huge deals may still be available on the weekend of Black Friday, Columbus Day gives buyers more chances of getting their desired sizes and styles since there are less people aware of the holiday's sale offers.
Meanwhile, multiple outlets discourage buyers from getting fooled by apparel deals since the average Black Friday clothing discount sees figures of up to 50 percent off. Columbus Day deals are only maxed out at about 40 percent.
Tech sales are also discouraged since November will see more costs cut than the offers seen in some stores this month.
