Conor McGregor Fight News: McGregor Reportedly Cancels Movie Offer to 'Avoid Distraction'

Reigning UFC featherweight world champion Conor McGregor has set his priorities straight, and so far, it continues to revolve on fighting, and fighting alone.

In a tweet posted by Brett Okamoto for ESPN, "The Notorious" has reportedly cancelled his previous plans to make his first movie appearance in A-List actor Vin Diesel's upcoming action flick "xXx: The Return of Zander."

"As mentioned on @SportsCenter, I'm told McGregor has canceled his planned appearance on Vin Diesel's XXX film. Doesn't want distraction," Okamoto's tweet reads.

McGregor rose to instant mainstream superstardom because of his bravado and brash demeanor. Bearing the most 'quotable' remarks during interviews and media obligations, "The Notorious" has developed to be one of the most controversial figures in mixed martial arts today.

While many fighters give him props for bringing more eyes to the sport of mixed martial arts, many are not fans of his attitude, as well. But to his credit, he has managed to become one of the biggest draws in the UFC, after merely almost three years of being in the company.

His superstardom, of course, was full-blown, as he has earned other appearances outside of the prizefighting realm, such as interviews with beloved talk show personality, Conan O'Brien. While McGregor himself has not made a statement himself, he is seemingly avoiding the perils of superstardom that is brought upon a fast-rising superstar fighter.

In November, former UFC bantamweight queen Ronda Rousey was dealt with her most crushing moment in her professional career, when Holly Holm knocked her out in the second round of UFC 193's main event in Melbourne, Australia.

Many believe that one of the factors that led to Rousey's downfall was the load of commitments she has outside of her figthing career, particularly the movies she has starred in. The 29-year old Rousey has already appeared in major movie titles, such as The Expendables 3, Fast & Furious 7, and HBO's silver screen rendition of Entourage.

Her upcoming project is the lead role in the remake of 80's cult classic Road House.
