'Constantine' News: Episode 2 Plot Revealed
"Constantine" is shaping up to be a series that can hold its own against other shows that contains a supernatural theme, such as "Grimm" and "Supernatural."
The show's pilot was a success as it held its own against other highly rated programs that aired on that night, including the World Series. The premiere was also lauded by critics and according to Moviepilot's review.
"Even if you have never read the comic or know of the Hellblazer himself this show will allow you to sit back and be both intrigued and creeped out," the site wrote.
In earlier reports, it has been confirmed that show runners David S. Goyer and Daniel Cerone have decided to make a few adjustments in the show, particularly with the cast. Lead female character Liv (Lucy Griffiths) exited the show after the pilot, to be replaced by a character from the original "Constantine" comic books—Zed Martin.
Zed, who will be played by Angelica Celaya, was introduced in the reworked version of the pilot episode, and shown drawing countless pictures of Constantine despite never having met him. In the comic books, Zed was one of the first allies and lovers of Constantine.
Here is the official synopsis of the next episode of "Constantine" titled "The Darkness Beneath":
"Deep in the mountains of Western Pennsylvania, John (Matt Ryan) is a small mining community's only defense against an ancient Welsh spirit. In the course of protecting these isolated innocents, John finds a vital new ally in a mysterious young woman named Zed," the summary read.
"Constantine" airs Friday nights at 10 p.m. on NBC.
