'Constantine' season 2 canceled; Matt Ryan to appear in 'Arrow' instead
NBC already canceled the second season of the supernatural thriller series "Constantine" a few months ago, but Matt Ryan's fans need not be dismayed because he will reportedly appear in The CW's "Arrow" next month.
Constantine will not be returning to NBC anytime soon, but lead star Matt Ryan will still reprise his role, albeit in a different television series. Ryan will appear as John Constantine when Arrow season 4 premieres on The CW this Oct. 7, according to Master Herald.
Ryan confirmed his appearance on Arrow through a video he uploaded on his Twitter account. In the clip, he said he will play the same famous role but in a different show. He added that he is gearing up to take on other supernatural forces in Arrow.
In the trailer for Arrow season 4, Oliver is determined to leave his life as a vigilante so that he could have more time for Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards). However, he is called back to his mission because Star City never has constant peace, Variety reports.
However, his future opponents in Arrow are still under wraps. He will most likely be with Team Arrow, which is headed by Stephen Amell's Green Arrow, the report states.
Meanwhile, the decision to have Matt Ryan play Constantine in Arrow gained praises from fans who believe that the show did not deserve what NBC did to it. There are also other who hope Constantine will have its own TV series in the long run.
Constantine was a big favorite, especially in social media. The end of the 13th episode, which was meant to be a prelude to the next season, was a major cliff-hanger. But since NBC decided to ax the show, fans had no closure at all, the report says.
Ryan said he feel sorry that Constantine was not renewed for its second season and that no network was able to save it from cancellation. Show creator Daniel Cerone also tried hard to save the show, but to no avail.
Arrow season 4 will premiere on Oct. 7 at 8:00 pm on The CW.
