'Containment' Season 1 News, Spoilers: Christina Moses Talks Jana Mayfield; David Gyasi, Chris Wood On Season 1 Finale
"Containment," The CW's new miniseries about an epidemic that leaves the city of Atlanta quarantined, is the latest offering from producer/screenwriter Julie Plec, the woman behind hit shows "The Vampire Diaries" and "The Originals."
The drama/thriller, which was originally titled "Cordon," follows a group of Atlanta residents as they deal with a virus outbreak that causes the city to be cordoned off and loved ones to be separated.
One of the show's stars, Christina Moses, recently spoke to Wetpaint about her character, Jana Mayfield, a data recovery specialist who finds herself trapped in the city's sectioned-off area.

"The guard that [Jana] has, the walls that she has up, she's able to use all of that to stay two steps ahead of the virus and to protect other people," Moses said. But, as she told the website, Jana will also begin to learn that she needs to work with others if she wants to survive the deadly viral outbreak. The actress also shared that she is able to connect with Jana because of "how we get in our own way … and the challenges of rising above that, hopefully."
According to Moses, Jana's tough exterior is eventually melted away and she is able to open hear heart and step up to become the "unsuspecting hero" for some of the characters in "Containment."
Meanwhile, "Containment" stars David Gyasi and Chris Wood recently opened up to Collider about the show's season 1 finale. In The CW's outbreak drama, Gyasi and Wood play Atlanta Police Department Officers Lex Carnahan and Jake Riley, respectively.
According to Wood, reading the scripts for the season 1 finale led to "very emotional moments" for the show's cast. As Gyasi explained, it wasn't just reading about his own character's fate that got to him. "It was the other characters. I was like, 'My goodness, that is heart-wrenching,'" he said.
As Wood told Collider, when fans see the season ender, they will find that the main characters have gone through a "pretty amazing" journey to get there.
"In just the way these characters think of themselves and the world, it's quite different, by the end of the season," he teased. "This situation changes all of them."
"Containment" airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
