'Continuum' season 4 news, cast, spoilers: Will Alec and Emily's relationship finally end?
Many fans of "Continuum" had been surprised and ecstatic that the show finally came back. Its long hiatus actually somehow drained hope that a return would still ever happen. Luckily, the show pulled through, and now, the fourth and final season is on its way.
Episode 2 featured a lot of Alec and Emily's struggle to continue their relationship. It also featured an appearance from someone bearing warnings of the events that could most likely alter the future. These warnings were delivered by a future Kellogg who used a holographic medium to inform the present-day Kellog about saving his future.
Kellogg then focused on Alec and was more than surprised to realize that Alec's priorities are topped by Emily before anything else. This means he is willing to compromise just about anything for her and so Kellogg decided to focus on how he can use this to manipulate Alec. Meanwhile, Keira, unaware of the threats, tried to stop what Kellogg was doing to Alec by negotiating with him but Kellogg does not listen to her as he is determined to exploit Alec as his powers dictate him to do so.

Despite being held still in Kellogg's clutches, Alec continued on to attempt and save Emily. However, when he finally found her, it seems like Emily has other plans than being with Alec. Emily decided to leave him, giving the reason that she is doing this to keep Alec out of danger. Although Alec may not know, the truth is already out as to why Emily is leaving Alec, and it's so that Jason could be born. Emily walked away from a brokenhearted Alec. It seems the end for Alec and Emily at this point, but knowing Alec, he might not give up that easily when it comes to Emily.
The show has so far been successful in establishing a strong foundation early in its season, and more mysteries will certainly be unraveled as the series will try to satisfy curiosity that fans may have now that it's on its final season. The third episode of season 4 of Continuum will air on Sept. 18 on Showcase.
