Cory Monteith Overdose Addressed by Former 'Glee' Actress Dianna Agron

Former "Glee" actress Dianna Agron addressed the recent death of her one-time on-screen love interest Cory Monteith and offered kind words in remembrance of him.

The actress released a statement about the loss of Monteith on Wednesday, who was found dead Saturday in his Vancouver hotel room. An autopsy revealed that a lethal mixture of heroin and alcohol contributed to the 31-year-old actor's demise.

"I have never lost a friend. In this difficult time, I am leaning on all of the wonderful memories we shared with Cory, how many ways he was able to make us smile," said Agron, who played cheerleader Quinn and Monteith's first love interest on the hit Fox show. "Glee was a gift to all of us. It gave us a family in this industry."

"My heart goes out to his family, to Lea, to everyone that is struggling with the loss of our friend," the always insightful actress went on to say. "We will miss you Cory. We will always carry a piece of you with us."

The sudden and tragic death may lead to the delay of the fifth season premier as fans continue to mourn.

The premiere of the fifth season may have to wait until November, a source said. One of the ideas that has been touted would be to delay the production of the show about one month or longer in order to "let everyone breathe," a Fox source told the Daily News. The show had been scheduled to begin production of the upcoming season at the end of July.

The network had initially planned to kick off the fifth season of "Glee" on Sept. 19 before Fox began airing its coverage of Major League Baseball's post-season during the prime-time hours.
