'Crackdown 3': Devs Hint More Gameplay Info Arriving Soon
Recently, developers of the upcoming game "Crackdown 3" have been teasing fans that more information about the title is "on the horizon."
"Crackdown 3" was confirmed to be in development as early as 2014 during the Electronic Entertainment Expo. Xbox Chief Phil Spencer was equally excited to announce the game in 2014, though it was still a long way to go from the actual launch. Talking to Kotaku during E3 2014, Spencer said: "Certain people say, 'Why do you announce it? It's not a game that you put a date on or anything' ... Crackdown is one of those franchises that's been around Xbox for a while that people ask me about and I hate being evasive on the question. I figured it was time."
Since then, nothing much was made known about the upcoming game. But with an early video teaser released during Gamescom 2015 for "Crackdown 3," it was previewed that "Crackdown 3" will feature a "revolutionary new multiplayer experience using 100 percent destructible environments" that can be activated by players. Because the timing of the "Crackdown 3" developers' teaser for more information about the game is not far from the first-ever Xbox Project Scorpio reveal, reports and fans have speculated that "Crackdown 3" was somehow going to be part of the anticipated console's unveiling via Digital Foundry/Eurogamer.
However, developers were quick to dismiss that speculation through the upcoming game's official Twitter page, saying they have no idea about what is going on for other projects but news about their title "will start rolling out BIG TIME in the coming months."
Meanwhile, other reports also consider the possibility that "Crackdown 3" developers are referring to the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2017, which happens in June, when they are going to release more information about the game.
Knowing that the game runs in 4K, it is safe to say that it will be released on Xbox Scorpio as well. If so, there is also a chance to see a game demo when the console is presented on June 11.
Developers are yet to announce the release date for "Crackdown 3" but it is expected to happen sometime in the fourth quarter of 2017.
