'Crazy Ex-Girlfriend' Season 2 Premiere News: Josh and Rebecca Move on from Her Big Confession; Show Will be Back with More Emmy Worthy Musical Numbers
Fresh from 2 Creative Emmy wins, the series will be back with wackier and more colorful musical numbers
After getting the Emmy nod for its musical numbers from its maiden season, "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" appears pumped up for more entertaining song and dance numbers. And, based on the first trailer for Season 2, the musical numbers will be more colorful and a lot wackier than ever before.
2 Creative Emmy Wins
The cast and production crew of "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" are beyond ecstatic for winning two Emmy trophies from the Creative Emmy Awards. The show took home the Best Single-Camera Picture Editing for Kabir Akhtar and Kathryn Burns won the Best Choreography Award. Rachel Bloom was able to catch the winners' reactions when their names were announced as winners and posted them on Instagram.
Wackier Musical Numbers
"Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" Season 2 will be having Spice Girls, Disney and Beyonce inspired musical numbers according to sources. Reportedly, there will be a parody of Beyonce's "Lemonade" as well as a Spice Girls tribute number. Meanwhile, Paula Proctor (Donna Lynne Champlin) will be featured in a Disney inspired number.
The Beyonce bit was confirmed by the co-creator and lead star of "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" herself, Rachel Bloom, in a radio interview. Meanwhile, Melina Root, the costume designer of the show, revealed that the musical numbers' costumes required lots of sequins and rhinestones.
Crazier Season 2
The first teaser for "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" Season 2 has been released and it shows a wackier Season 2 to say the least. Paula declares that she is worried for her best friend Rebecca (Rachel Bloom) because the latter appers to still be living inside a bubble due to the recent developments in her relationship with Josh (Vincent Rodriguez III).
Rebecca was also shown in the "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" Season 2 trailer dressed in a variety of costumes such as a hamster, a cactus and an old-fashioned movie usher in some musical numbers. Greg (Santino Fontana) also briefly appears and looks like he is punching someone in the face. Could this be the fallout of Rebecca's confession last season?
No Big Deal
In last season's finale of "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend", Rebecca finally got back together with her first love Josh Chan. Right after sharing an intimate moment together, she confessed the truth that she had been hiding all season long. She admitted that she moved to West Covina, California from her life in New York City to be with him.
It seemed to the fans of Rebecca and Josh that her confession might be too much for their very young relationship to hurdle. But, seeing that they were seen making out in the "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" Season 2 trailer, it must not have been a big deal to Josh after all.
The premiere of "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" was announced to be on October 21, Friday, on The CW.
