'Criminal Minds' Season 11 Spoilers News: BAU Opens Up A Cold Case

After a chilling episode last Wednesday in CBS' hit police-procedural drama TV series "Criminal Minds," where the Behavioural Analysis Unit (BAU) took on a bride killer who murdered brides-to-be in the neighbourhood, the show is set to air yet another intense and thrilling segment. This time, it involves a serial killer going after teenagers.

This week's showing will see the BAU team flying to Los Angeles to tackle a robbery and homicide case involving three restaurant workers who were found dead.

What is interesting is that in order for them to crack the case, they need to open up a cold case from six years ago which also took place in the same New Mexico town. Given that it is a cold case, the perpetrator is still on the loose. Thus it is the FBI's initial objective to first solve the six-year-old case so that they can figure out how it relates to the present crime and gather enough clues from it to find who is behind it.

A teaser promo for the episode titled "Outlaw" offers a quick glimpse of what to expect in the new action-packed series installment. In it, Dr. Tara Lewis notices from the clues that the dead victims have one thing in common - they're all teenagers. In addition, a long-haired man wearing dark sunglasses and covering his mouth with a skeleton-designed mask was heard saying in the clip, "You're next."

Meanwhile, a TVGuide report says that fans of the series will find out more about the dirty dozen in the next episodes. Confirming the details is executive producer Erica Messer who told the media outlet that there will be "a bit more about them, what they've done and their search" in the coming episodes.

"It's a long-term case and it's obviously on their radar," the EP said (via D&T).

However, the arc won't stick very long in the current season. In fact, according to the showrunner, the show will "wrap it up before the end of the season" to give way for other arcs including that of The Replicator and the last year with Kate.

"Criminal Minds" Season 11 airs Wednesdays at 9 on CBS.
