Crocodile Dundee Missing $34M: Paul Hogan Sues Financial Advisor for 'Stealing' Millions (VIDEO)
Crocodile Dundee is missing $34m, and has now launched a lawsuit to claim back the money he says was "stolen" from him, according to reports.
Australian actor, Paul Hogan, who is most famous for his portrayal of much-loved character, Crocodile Dundee, has brought a lawsuit in a U.S. court to recover millions of dollars he had saved in a Swiss bank account.
The 73 year old actor has said that he is pursuing his former tax advisor for the missing money. According to the Sydney Morning Herald there is already an international arrest warrant out for financial adviser Philip Egglishaw, who had worked with Hogan.
Hogan is accusing Egglishaw of stealing the actor's money, and he is demanding that a court order $34 million to be repaid to him. Egglishaw is accused of setting up various complex corporate structures in tax havens to help his clients evade taxes they otherwise would have to pay.
According to one report in Swiss newspaper, Le Matin Dimanche, an account in the Corner Bank in Lausanne, contains $34 million of Hogan's money. However, the actor has been locked out of the account and cannot access the cash that he rightfully believes belongs to him.
Hogan's lawyers are claiming that Egglishaw may have either "absconded" with the missing millions, or that he could even have spent it all.
U.S. lawyer Schuyler Moore is representing Hogan in the case, and he emailed Egglishaw's lawyer in Geneva, Paul Gully-Hart, stating: "The actions of Egglishaw have now crossed the boundary of legality, and he is now engaging in criminal fraud, theft, and breach of fiduciary duty, and you are now directly aiding and abetting his criminal actions. The Carthage Trust's beneficiary [Hogan] is not going to stand idly by in the face of this theft, and he is going to take every step possible in every country possible to hold Egglishaw, Strachans, you, and your firm liable and brought to account."
