'CSI: Cyber' News: 'CSI: Cyber' Earned Its Highest Ratings This Season

Last Sunday's episode got "CSI: Cyber" its highest ratings this season, and fans are happy about the news despite it facing against the live telecast of the 64th Miss Universe pageant on Fox.

"CSI: Cyber" just aired its midseason finale, and the explosive episode made it win against the other shows on the same time slot on Sunday night. According to TV Fanatic, the show reached 6.2 million viewers and a 1.1 rating, while the Miss Universe pageant slipped ratings from that in last year's. However, despite getting its highest rating this season, the website said that these numbers are still not good enough for the show to make it past its second season.

In the last episode, which is titled "Shades of Grey," a hacker is playing a real-life Robin Hood by hacking ATMs, and making it spew money into the street, according to Celebrity Dirty Laundry. Unfortunately, someone was murdered in the middle of the chaos, which has alerted Avery (Patricia Arquette) and her team of Cyber experts. Raven's (Hayley Kiyoko) name was also dragged into this mess, but Avery and Brody Nelson (Shad Moss) teamed up to help her clear her name.

In other news, Assignment X was able to chat with Charley Koontz, the actor who plays Daniel Krumitz, and he said that working as a cyber-expert made him more wary of using his own computer. "I just use it less. I mean, I feel like a jilted lover with my computer. We had such a good thing going, and then I found out all this stuff that it knows how to do. So you start to scale back, and you start to be more aware of what you're putting out, or not even putting out, the stuff that you're having in private conversations with people," he shares.

He also said he loves that "CSI: Cyber" tackles plots that are not the ordinary. "It's somebody who wants to park outside your house and hack onto your wi-fi and steal all your stuff and really put you in a precarious situation. That's what I found to be the most crazy about all these scripts, is that you have to solve a crime where two people aren't linked," he said.

"CSI: Cyber" is currently on break, but will be back on Jan. 10 next year, on CBS.
