'CSI Cyber' Season 2 – Face-off between Avery and D.B. Russell
As the original CSI comes to an end after 15 seasons and having created television history, its third spin-off, CSI Cyber, is slated to premiere its second season in October with cast changes and a favourite of CSI, Ted Danson as D.B. Russell, will be transferred to "CSI Cyber" Season 2.
During the Season 1 finale of "CSI Cyber" titled "Family Secrets," Special Agent Avery Ryan, played by Patricia Arquette, confronts the hacker who exposed confidential patient information online. Kumitz, played by Charley Koontz, comes face to face with the man who killed his parents.
From the original cast, Peter MacNicol has left the show so the slot of Assistant Director and FBI insider plus Avery's supervisor will be taken up by the new addition, Ted Danson.
With the high profile casting of Ted Danson in "CSI Cyber" Season 2 as old CSI favourite D.B. Russell, the hierarchy goes in for a shakeup. Special Agent Avery Ryan never needed a supervisor. When Ted Danson moves into CSI Cyber, he won't be finding a cooperative Avery.
Rumours are rife that in the second season of "CSI Cyber", with her boss moving out, Avery too wants to move up the "CSI Cyber" hierarchy. This will put her in direct confrontation with D.B. Russell who will most certainly take up the post of FBI Supervisor to Avery.
The title of the Premiere episode is out and it is called "Why-Fi." It is D.B. Russell's first case after joining the team and together with Avery, they seek answers to a burglary-cum-homicide which involves a remote hacker. But soon tension bubbles up between Avery and D B Russell starts as Avery wants to move up the hierarchy of CSI Cyber.
This is an interesting dynamic that will create interest in the viewers. Both Krumitz and Elijah have to deal with family this season. Krumitz attends his sister's trial as a witness. An intricate family situation worries Elijah who has to deal with it.
Avery's anticipated face-off with D.B. Russell and the family subplots of Krumitz and Elijah is bound to draw viewer interest when "CSI Cyber" Season 2 returns this October.
