CyanogenMod Installer Download Finally Arriving to OnePlus One Smartphones
Since February, Chinese manufacturer OnePlus has been hinting the upcoming version of its CyanogenMod-powered handset.
A couple of weeks ago, a new Oxygen OS was released for the Android "flagship killer," featuring a simple design that is reminiscent of stock Android 5.0 Lollipop.
However, for long-time fans of Cyanogen, the long wait is finally over.
According to a report by GSM Arena, the new CyanogenMod 12 has finally been released for the OnePlus One smartphone.
In the report, the new Cyanogen version will bring a number of changes to the OnePlus One interface, including Android Lollipop's Material Design and a new ART run time.
Other changes also include customizable options, a new App Themer that applies themes to individual apps, and the debut of a new default email app, named Boxer.
Launched a year ago, the OnePlus One is among the most popular Android handsets when it was announced. The device boasts a 5.5-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, 2GB of RAM, a Snapdragon 801 chipset, and a 13MP primary camera.
In spite these top-notch specs, the device only costs less than $400.
Unfortunately, the Chinese company opted for the 'invite' system in selling its devices. As a result, consumers who have already signed up for the device, were left waiting for their individual invites.
Based on recent reports, a new OnePlus Two smartphone will be released later this year, although there are no indications whether OnePlus and Cyanogen will continue its partnership.
