'Cyberpunk 2077' could launch in 2019

Details from documents talking about the funding of CD Projekt's upcoming games, including "Cyberpunk 2077," have recently been released and reportedly suggest that the said title will be available in 2019.

So far, there is still little known facts about the upcoming game. But when the project was announced a few years ago, developers promised that the title would be a "true RPG game." This much was said in a 2014 interview with CD Projekt RED co-founder, Marcin Iwinski, on IGN.

"We're taking all what we've learnt from previous three Witcher games, as well as the open-world aspect, and applying it to Cyberpunk 2077. So yes, it is an all-out RPG game, but we're looking at having a lot of new gameplay elements that I cannot talk about yet. One thing I can say for sure is that it is definitely NOT a multiplayer shooter," Iwinski added.

A NeoGAF member going by the username boskee posted in the said forum site on Monday that according to the documents, CD Projekt will have to release the game titles in their pipeline by 2019. The still in-development games, including "Cyberpunk 2077," will be partly funded by the Polish government.

In the NeoGAF thread, four projects will reportedly run from January 2016 until June 2019, which explains the speculations on the possible release schedule of "Cyberpunk 2077." However, the government grant allows CD Projekt to get a deadline extension upon the studio's request.

Boskee reportedly got the information from CD Projekt's recently released call for proposals, which ask for possible subcontractors that can work on four projects that the NeoGAF user identified as being "seamless multiplayer, cinematic feel, animation excellence and city creation."

The request for proposals are all uploaded in the game studio's official website. And according to NeoGAF's boskee, CD Projekt needs a long list of contractors for particular departments on the four projects.

According to boskee's thread, some of the needed subcontractors are as follows: for the Seamless Multiplayer, they will need a DevOps Lead, Producer, Network Programmer, Design Director, etc; the Cinematic Feel project needs a Cinematic Artist, Gameplay Programmer, Sound Designer, Animation Programmer, etc; the Animation Excellence project needs an Animation Tools Developer, Animator, Character Artist, Animation Director, etc; and the City Creation Project needs an Engine Programmer, Environment Technical Artist, Artificial Intelligence Programmer, Lighting Artist, and more.

The list of proposal requests can be found on the developer's website.
