'Da Vinci's Demons' Season 3 Premiere News, Spoilers: The Ottoman Attacks
The premiere for the third and the last season of Starz's hit historical fantasy drama TV series "Da Vinci's Demons" is finally here and fans are expecting to see Tom Riley's titular character facing his "biggest challenge yet," keeping Otranto safe from the Ottoman invaders.
The details of the episode mentioned over at Zap2it.com suggest that the opener titled "Semper Infidelis" will see Leonardo and his allies beaten by the overwhelming forces of the Turks. The dire situation will force them to make a retreat and gather what is left to make a final stand for their city.
What is even more interesting in the episode is that Leo will discover that the enemy was able to get their hands on his warfare designs and even managed to improve it, making it deadlier and more destructive than originally perceived. Perhaps the episode will reveal who stole Leo's notes and how the army of Florence will defeat or at least fend off the Ottoman Empire from their doorstep.

John Shiban, the new executive producer of the series, spoke with Entertainment Weekly on the significance of the Turk invasion among the characters in the story. According to him, the Ottoman attack is a way that could "bring everybody together" and that people will "quickly understand what Riario (Blake Ritson) and what Lucrezia (Laura Haddock) is facing."
"Because," Shiban added, "they're all facing one giant event," and that is the Turks trampling over their lands.
In a different interview with EW, series creator David S. Goyer said that with the current pressing matters, Leo will be forced to "align with old foes, repair broken friendships, discover hidden secrets, and resume a dangerous quest," while at the same time dealing with the worst enemy he has ever encountered - himself.
