Dallas Cowboys News: Tony Romo Resumes Throwing

Movement is on the way for Dallas.

The Dallas Cowboys have been going through a downward spiral as of late, but they have encouraging news about star quarterback Tony Romo.

According to sources, the Pro Bowl quarterback set foot on the practice field for the first time on Wednesday after suffering from a broken collarbone on September 20, 2015 when the Cowboys faced the Philadelphia Eagles.

Reporters saw that Romo threw a few passes with some receivers during individual drills.

This was eventually confirmed by head coach Jason Garrett on the same day, saying: "We anticipate him throwing a little bit, doing some pat and go hopefully and then throwing some individual routes with the group and then hopefully a little bit on the side as well."

This does not mean that Romo is ready to play soon as he is still part of the short-team injured reserve and is required to remain on the sidelines for at least eight weeks.

This means that Romo will be able to practice with the team but his earliest possible return is on November 22, 2015 when they face the Miami Dolphins.

Romo's return to practice is a welcome sight for Dallas as they are at the bottom of the NFC East with a 2-5 record. Furthermore, they have lost five straight in the season and have clearly missed the leadership of their starting quarterback.

Garrett continued to praise Romo, claiming that despite his injury he has been integrated with the team.

"One of the things about Tony is in his absence is he always stays engaged," the coach said. "It's not like he has been away. But it will be nice to see him out there throwing a little bit."

The Cowboys are set to face the Eagles on November 8, in the final scheduled match for Sunday Night Football.
