'Dance Moms' News: Abby Lee Miller Heading to Mexico After Second Sentencing Moved to May

The second sentencing of "Dance Moms" star Abby Lee Miller for her bankruptcy case was delayed to May 8, almost three months after the original date, which was Feb. 24.

There are conflicting reports that suggest Miller's sentencing will take place on March 8, but Deadline claims that it will indeed be during the month of May. There, Miller will learn her fate.

Chief Judge Joy Flowers Conti even set May 9 as a follow-up hearing if the "Dance Moms" regular's legal team needs more time to argue. Miller is seeking probation instead of imprisonment, which could be up to two and a half years.

The extension gives the reality star plenty of time to travel and film "Dance Moms," whose second half of season 7 is already in production. In fact, Miller already has another overseas trip penciled for March.

The owner of Abby Lee Dance Company (ALDC) will be in Mexico from March 2 to 7. Days before the now-canceled February sentencing, she traveled to London to talk about all things "Dance Moms."

It was noted in Conti's order that there will be "no further travel will be authorized before the sentencing." Despite this, Miller has been approved to leave the country. Her trip was deemed for "business opportunities."

One of Conti's conditions is that the "Dance Moms" star should submit requests to travel outside the country at least two weeks before the hearing. Since the hearing was moved all the way to May, her Mexico trip becomes permissible.

Miller's court issues bring to question her status on "Dance Moms." Her legal woes were often a subject in the first half of the current season.

Season 7B is currently being filmed. There are rumors that work on season 8 is being fast-tracked too so that Miller can do as much "Dance Moms" work as she can if things do not go her way in the sentencing.

"Dance Moms" is currently on a hiatus and is expected to return later this year on Lifetime.
