'Dance Moms' News: Lifetime to Air Abby Lee Miller Special Episode in November
Lifetime is set to release a special "Dance Moms" episode featuring its former star Abby Lee Miller in November.
The special episode titled "Abby's Last Dance" will show Miller recalling her early days on the show as she watched old clips where she will also "[explain] the method behind her madness," according to Deadline.
However, it is unclear whether the special episode was filmed before or after Miller posted her controversial message on social media that explained her side on why she left the show.
Miller posted a lengthy rant on her social media account back in March that spoke of how she did not intend to be part of "Dance Moms" anymore. While she maintained that she loved working with the young performers she was training, she claimed that she was "manipulated, disrespected, and used" by the people behind the show.
In the same Instagram post, Miller revealed she repeatedly "begged" for the producers to give her "creative credit for all the ideas, award-winning routines, themes, and costuming" in the show. However, she implied that none was given.
Aside from leaving the show, Miller is also going to be gone for a while as she was convicted of bankruptcy fraud in May. The court ordered her to serve a 366-day jail sentence in a federal prison which would be followed by a two-year probation period. On top of those punishments, she should pay a fine of $40,000.
"Abby's Last Dance" will air on Tuesday, Nov. 7, at 10 p.m. EDT on Lifetime.
Shortly after Miller exited "Dance Moms," Lifetime found their new star to lead the show and the girls' dance competitions by enlisting former "Dancing with the Stars" pro Cheryl Burke. However, fans can start watching her on the show once new episodes of "Dance Moms" premiere on Tuesday, Oct. 17, at 9 p.m. EDT on Lifetime.
