'Dance Moms' season 6 cast and spoilers: New season may feature a new cast
Lifetime's reality show "Dance Moms" is back for an all-new season. The show focuses on the early careers of children in dance under the tutelage of Abby Lee Miller, as well as the mothers of the young dancers. The show is set in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Los Angeles, California and it is shot at the Abby Lee Dance Studios.
The new season will most likely see the return of some fan favorites like Jeanette and Ava, as well as Nia and Holly. Nia spoke about wanting to pursue all forms of entertainment. "I feel like I can do it all. I want to do it all. I want to do singing, acting, dancing, and I love being on the show," she said. Kira and Kalani are also set to return to the show next season, despite the fact that Kira is pregnant and is getting ready for her wedding.
Executive producer Jeff Collins spoke at length about the upcoming season. The season has not yet started filming but he did say that shooting is right around the corner. He did not confirm if the season will have its standard 32 episodes. He did tease that this season will be a big one.
Furthermore, he added that the forthcoming season might not be all about the junior elite team. "We never know who's going to be on the show until the day we start shooting. Some of the girls are becoming teenagers. Obviously, you guys are aware that Maddie [Ziegler] is becoming a big star. So, that's our job is to be constantly looking. It doesn't mean that we are replacing anybody," he said.
The show is auditioning new dancers as Collins said that the producers are always on the lookout for new talent and it's what they do all the time. The current season will shoot in Los Angeles in Abby Lee's new studio.
The cast may change as young dance star Maddie has yet to confirm her return to the show. There was an audition last Aug. 17 for some new dancers. The casting is currently ongoing. There is no set date for the show's return; however, it is likely that it will return some time next year.
