'Dance Moms' Season 6 Update: Show Accused of Being Fake; Maddie Ziegler Set to Return

American reality television series "Dance Moms" season 6 is still far from airing its premiere episode but it's already been making headlines, especially with the recently held Devotion 2 Dance competition that the cast competed at. According to Design & Trend, there are fans who believe that a few of the competitions featured in the show could be fake.

A spoiler site of the show revealed that the Abby Lee Dance Company dancers joined the Devotion 2 Dance Sheer Talent competition on Saturday in California. The team garnered almost all of the awards but there's a possibility that it's not because they were the best. As it turned out, Abby Lee Miller's two teams were the only groups in the competition.

International Business Times detailed that Abby's new team danced to "Cavemen Undercover," which is a jazz number, while her elite junior team composing of Kendall Vertes, Nia Frazier, Kalani Hillker, JoJo Siwa, Mackenzie Ziegler, Kendall Vertes and newcomer Brynn Rumfallo performed for the teen division with their lyrical number "Better Off Now." They reportedly won first place while the new team took home second overall.

A photo was released showing Miller and the girls on a visibly bare stage during the awards ceremony. Miller is seen holding a large trophy. Reports say that the event only had 15 entries. It also said that two of Miller's young dancers, Alysa Owen and Arena Lopez, competed in the solo category wherein they won awards, with Owen placing second in her junior division jazz solo "Fever Rising" and Lopez winning first place for her contemporary piece, "Dance."

It's not the first time that the show has been speculated to be doing fake competitions. According to Yibada, the ALDC team got to perform their routine twice back in 2014 so that the show could capture great shots for the show. The other contestants were not given the same advantage. The team also joined "rigged competitions" in which dance companies signed up even though they know that Miller's team would take home the winning title. Some reportedly signed up for the TV exposure.

In other news, Maddie Ziegler may not be totally leaving show after all. Christian Today reported that Maddie is part of the ALDC LA team, which means she will be appearing in season 6. Her routine during the Dream National Dance Competition held last Oct. 31 will be featured in the upcoming season.

"Dance Moms" season 6 will return sometime in 2016.
