'Dancing With the Stars' 2016: Italia Ricci and Ben Higgins Linked to Possible Cast

"Dancing With the Stars" 2016's new season is only a couple of months away from its premiere, and the Internet is now abuzz with rumors about the upcoming cast for season 22.

It can be remembered that during the season 21 finale, resident judge Len Goodman revealed that he will come back for "Dancing With the Stars" season 22. The judge had been absent for one season because he had decided to return to the UK to spend some time with his family, according to Design & Trend.

Goodman also announced the news via Twitter on Nov. 25, 2015.

"Back on DWTS season 22. So nice people are welcoming me back," said Goodman on Twitter. "Be careful what you wish for."

Goodman's return to the reality competition is expected to have a positive effect on the ratings of the show. While a score of 10 from the other judges does not have much impact on the audience, a 10 from Goodman is a high mark on the contest, Youth Health Mag reports.

Last November, ABC announced the air date for "Dancing With the Stars" season 22. The network revealed that the premiere will run for two hours.

As for the contestants for "Dancing With the Stars" season 22, rumor has it that the cast will include Italia Ricci of "Chasing Life," Ben Higgins of "The Bachelor," and Rashad Jennings of the New York Giants. Rob Irwin, season 21 winner Bindi Irwin's younger brother, has also expressed his interest in joining the show, the report relays.

In an interview with "The Today Show Australia," Rob said joining the ABC reality show would be fun and incredible.

The rest of the contestants in the dance competition have yet to be revealed, the report adds.

"Dancing With the Stars" season 22 premieres on Mar. 21 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
