'Dancing With The Stars' News: Bethany Mota and Derek Hough Get Perfect Score on Jazz Number Despite Bethany's Ankle Injury

Accidents and injuries are very common on "Dancing with the Stars," especially with the older contestants and those with no little or no dance background. However, 18-year old Bethany Mota has already suffered a twisted ankle while rehearsing for the week three performance of the show, and her partner, Derek Hough, has expressed concern over his partner's current state.

"Bethany's ankle is not doing great. We're wrapping it and icing it. The problem is you've got to stay off of it, but we don't have time for that," Hough wrote in a recent blog post.

However, Mota was able to power through her performance with Hough as they danced a lively jazz number to "Singing in the Rain." Gene Kelly is one of Hough's biggest heroes, and he was determined to pay homage to Kelly, which probably put even more pressure on Mota.

The two put on an impressive performance with nary a misstep on the choreography or a flinch from Mota. In the end, they got the second perfect score of the night, tying with Val Chmerkovskiy and Janel Parrish at the head of the leaderboard.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Mota revealed what it was like to rehearse with Hough, who is one of the biggest names on the show and is a 5-time winner of the Mirror Ball trophy.

"A typical rehearsal is like four hours," said Mota with a laugh.

Even Hough has admitted that this season seems to be a lot more grueling for him than the past seasons.

"It's funny, I've never taken naps during rehearsal ever but for some reason these past couple weeks we've been really tired," said Hough.

The 29-year-old pro dancer is also set to guest star on ABC's "Nashville" in a recurring role.
