'Dancing With the Stars' News: Partners Switched Up
The new episode of "Dancing With the Stars" is expected to spice things up with some switching.
It was reported that the upcoming season will have the pairs switched up. The pairs were chosen with the help of the show's fans through social media.
With that, nine couples are remaining in the series with the following pairings and dance assignements: Alek Skarlatos and Emma Slater with the Rumba; Alexa PenaVega and Derek Hough with the Tango; Andy Grammer and Sharna Burgess with the Argentine Tango; Bindi Irwin and Valentin Chmerkovskiy with the Cha Cha; Carlos Pena Vega and Lindsay Arnold with the Quickstep; Hayes Grier and Allison Holker with the Viennese Waltz; Nick Carter and Witney Carson with the Paso Doble; Paula Deen and Mark Ballas with the Jive; Tamar Braxton and Louis van Amstel with the Samba.
It was reported that the couples will perform their assigned partners for the upcoming episode. However, they will then be returning to their original partners in the next episode.
Meanwhile, it was reported that Irwin is leading the board when she earned the first 10 points of the season. She performed an emotional piece dedicated to her late father, Steve Irwin. Judge Julianne Hough said, "I probably am not the only one here — that took my breath away. That was a tribute to your father and I know you should be very proud, but he is very proud."
With that, fans are looking forward to see her dance with her new partner Chmerkovskiy. It was reported that Chmerkovskiy's style is prominently dark and sultry, which will be an interesting twist for Irwin. In addition, it was reported that Chmerkovskiy will be joining Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Julianne Hough as a guest judge in the next episode of the series.
