'Dancing with the Stars' Season 21 cast update: Nick Carter joins show, Paula Deen rumored to be part of cast

It's time to take out those dancing shoes again as "Dancing with the Stars" is coming back to the television for Season 21. The long-time dance competition is opening their doors again to famous personalities to let them show their groove and moves. With previous seasons winners like Rumer Willis, Alfonso Ribeiro and Meryl Davis, the show is currently in the works of casting stars who may be the next one to take home the mirror ball trophy.

Famous people like Triple Crown-winning jockey Victor Espinoza and actress Bindi Irwin have already been confirmed to be part of the upcoming show. The latest addition to the list is Backstreet Boys heartthrob Nick Carter. According to ET, Carter had already been asked several times to join the dance show but it was only this season that finally made him say "yes" to ABC.

The site revealed that the person who influenced Carter was his friend, Joey Fatone, from rival boyband NSYNC. Fatone had competed on seasons 4 and 15.

"He talks about it all the time and I was really debating if I wanted to do it, and he said, 'It's a great experience, it keeps you in shape and it'll teach you a lot of stuff,'" Carter said.

He also talked about his younger brother, Aaron Carter, who also joined the show during the ninth season and placed fifth with pro partner Karina Smirnoff. Because of Carter's past experiences as a dancer during his boy band days, fans think that he may already have an edge. However, Carter disagrees and believes that he has a lot of practicing and improving to do on the dance floor.

There are also rumors going around that the other one joining in the cast is former Food Network star Paula Deen, as reported by Us Weekly. According to the source, the celebrity chef was given an offer last year but declined it because it was "not the appropriate forum for her."

"Dancing with the Stars" is set to premiere Monday, Sept. 14 at 8PM ET/PT on ABC.
