'Dancing With the Stars' Season 24 Spoilers: Chris Kattan First to Go Home; Maksim Chmerkovskiy's Calf Injury
On the first elimination night of "Dancing with the Stars" season 24, Chris Kattan and his routine partner Witney Carson bids an early goodbye to the show. Meanwhile, fan-favorite Maksim Chmerkovskiy will have to miss several episodes after suffering a calf injury.
In the round-up by ABC on "Dancing with the Stars" season 24, week 2, Kattan managed to be entertaining and show a better performance than last week, according to the judges. However, those comments were not enough to give him a higher score. Out of 40, Kattan garnered 22 points.
Another celebrity contestant, Mr. T, performed a routine set in a boxing ring. Like Kattan's performance, the judges thought Mr. T had improved after a week. However, there is still room for improvements. Mr. T got the same 22 points from the judges.
However, at the end of the night, it was Kattan who had to leave the competition after being voted out.
Meanwhile, the big winners of season 24's week 2 are Rashad Jennings with Emma Slater and Normani Kordei with Valentin Chmerkovskiy. The judges thought Jennings and Slater's performance was so hot that it was described as "fifty shades of Viennese Waltz." Kordei got good feedback from the judges for the emotion allotted to the entire dance. Both pairings garnered a commanding 32 points.
On the other hand, Maksim was forced to miss out on the competition earlier than he wanted after suffering from a calf injury. His celebrity dance partner, Heather Morris, still did great with Alan Bersten (getting 30 points from judges) filling in for Maksim.
In a recent Instagram post, Maksim shared a backstage photo of him and Morris saying: "I'm so proud of @heatherrelizabethh for getting it done in an amazing fashion! I'm sorry I couldn't be next to you, but I promise to work harder than ever and get my ass back to the ballroom as soon as humanly possible!" On the same post, Maksim thanked Bersten, adding that he did a great job considering he had to step in "at the last second."
"Dancing with the Stars" airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
