Dania Suarez at Center of Secret Service Scandal

The Colombian prostitute at the center of the Secret Service scandal has left the country and gone into hiding because of all the attention she has been receiving.

A lawyer who is representing Dania Suarez stated that she left Cartagena after several photographs were published throughout various media outlets showing her posing provocatively in high heels, and one photo showing her in a bikini.

"Put yourself in her shoes," her lawyer, Marlon Betancourt said. "Her photo out there has caused her too much stress."

Suarez, 24, became the focal point of the Secret Service scandal when several agents were discovered to have been partying in Cartagena before President Obama's arrival for a Latin American conference.

According to several reports Suarez met the agents at a club close to the hotel they were staying at. She went back along with several other agents and prostitutes to the agent's room for a few hours in the Hotel Caribe, a source close to the investigation said.

The situation escalated after a dispute involving money owed to Suarez. Reports indicate that Suarez agreed to be paid $800 but when she was only offered $30 she refused to leave the room.

Local police were called and Suarez finally left the room, but it was too late as word of the situation reached the American embassy.

"It was the first time this ever happened to her," taxi driver José Pena, who drove from the hotel, told The Post.

Neighbors in her upscale Cartagena neighborhood were shocked to learn she was involved in legal prostitution.

"She didn't look like someone who was into that kind of lifestyle…But we respect her either way," a neighbor told The Daily Mail.

The names of two agents have already been released following their termination with the Secret Service.
