Danny Masterson Rape Allegations News: Netflix Continues Working With Actor; Case on Hold

Netflix will continue their contract with Danny Masterson despite the surfacing of allegations of the actor committing rape multiple times. Meanwhile, the case against Masterson for the allegations of rape has been put on hold.

When news broke that there have been multiple allegations against the "That 70's Show" alum committing rape on four women, Netflix confirmed with HuffPost that they will continue working with him until more evidence comes to light.

A spokesman for the streaming giant said in an e-mail, "We are aware of the allegations and the subsequent investigation, and will respond if developments occur."

Currently, Netflix has Masterson appearing on their series, "The Ranch," and it looks like he will continue to be part of the show until the case against him gains development.

However, it will take longer than expected for the alleged rape case against Masterson to gain movement since the charges were not allowed to be filed.

The Los Angeles Police Department turned over Masterson's pending case to the district attorney's office in April this year, along with multiple evidence to support the actor's alleged crime.

Unfortunately, even with the district attorney conducting their own investigation and finding compelling evidence, the rape charges against Masterson have been stalled.

Two people from the district attorney's office confirm that some items in evidence include audiotapes, e-mails with officers of Scientology — the religion of Masterson and three of his accusers — and a threatening letter written by the actor himself addressed to one of the alleged victims.

The actor has also taken measures to defend himself from the accusations of rape.

Masterson is represented by Thomas Mesereau, the same criminal defense attorney who defended Bill Cosby for sexual assault charges in Pennsylvania, Tony Ortega confirmed.

Aside from Mesereau, Marty Singer also represents Masterson, who works for film director Brett Ratner in addressing the allegations of sexual misconduct against him.
