'Daredevil' News: Is Daredevil Joining The Avengers In 'Infinity War'?
After Anthony and Joe Russo, who are directing the much-anticipated 2016 Marvel superhero clash film "Captain America: Civil War" and the two-part "Avengers: Infinity War," said that the latter will feature 67 different characters (they later backtracked and said that it was a "figurative" number), fans immediately speculated that the Marvel television heroes may also be making their own appearances in the film.
Unfortunately, "Daredevil" actor Charlie Cox, who plays Matt Murdock/the titular superhero, said that, so far, he has not been called to participate in the film. "I have not received that call!" Cox told Entertainment Tonight during an interview at the Television Critics Association's winter press tour. "Could you imagine? That would be the coolest thing ever," the actor added.
"That would be a dream," the 33-year-old actor gushed. "But that is not something that has been discussed with me at this point."
Cox also revealed that he has "no idea" how a Daredevil appearance on the big screen could be possible. He said: "Marvel TV and Marvel Studios are two very different things. So even if the character were to appear in that film, that doesn't necessarily mean that I would appear in that film."
"I will pick a fight with the guy that they choose!" the actor said.
But though teaming up with the Avengers to battle the Marvel Cinematic Universe's biggest villains seems, as of now, to be an unlikely prospect, Daredevil/Matt Murdock already has his own adversaries to worry about in New York City's Hell's Kitchen. When the second season of "Daredevil" premieres, the masked superhero will be facing off with ex-military mercenary Frank Castle/The Punisher (played by Jon Bernthal, who may soon be getting his own Netflix spinoff), and his ex-girlfriend, the antihero Elektra (played by Elodie Yung).
"Daredevil" Season 2 premieres on Friday, March 18.
