'Daredevil' Season 2 Spoilers, Plot News: Photos Show Jon Bernthal as 'The Punisher' Frank Castle

Filming for the highly anticipated second season of Netflix and Marvel's hit crime-fighting drama series "Daredevil" is currently undergoing and leaked set photos revealed series of exciting images featuring the show's newcomer, Jon Bernthal, doing some intense action stunts.

The latest set images were published in the popular celebrity media outlet JustJared.com.

The photos showcased the 38-year-old doing scenes that involved grappling a co-actor dressed as a mobster in what appears to be an amusement park. It's unclear if Frank Castle killed his opponent during the incident via a chokehold. However, the character is known for his brutal and many times fatal means of confronting his enemies.

The "Walking Dead" alum, who was among the first actors confirmed to join Charlie Cox (as Daredevil) in the show's new season, is seen with cuts and bruises on his face as well as on his knuckles suggesting a lengthy brawling scene.

He is wearing a pair of boots, jeans, and a simple black shirt devoid of the Punisher's recognizable white skull print. It remains to be found out if the new player in New York City's Hell's Kitchen is already assuming the Punisher identity.

Aside from Bernthal, Season 2 is also promised to feature a handful of Marvel Comics characters. The latest confirmed addition is Elektra Natchios, Matt Murdock's (Cox) love interest and sometimes enemy, who will be played by "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" actress Elodie Yung.

As reported earlier, the new season will pick up right where Season 1 ended, with Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio) finally getting apprehended by the authorities and the Daredevil who is now sporting his signature blood-red suit.

"Daredevil" returns to Netflix 2016.
